The culture of Kids Artistic Revue, Rainbow Dance Competition, and Ultra Dance Competition is centered around the practice of our CORE VALUES. These Core Values are more than just words, they’re a way of life. We use these Core Values to create a strong culture, a higher purpose to perform, and to keep a family-oriented, positive spirit within our dedicated team. As we continue to grow, we strive to ensure that our culture remains alive.

  • 1. Delivering WOW Through Service
    •  A KAR TEAM MEMBER believes that anything worth doing should be done with "WOW"!
    •  A KAR TEAM MEMBER differentiates themselves by performing tasks in both a creative and innovative way.
    •  A KAR TEAM MEMBER goes above and beyond the average level of service to create an emotional impact for the customer and giving them a positive story to take with them for the rest of their lives.
  • 2. Take Pride in Details and Presentation
    •  A KAR TEAM MEMBER'S goal is to provide the customers (teachers, dancers, and parents) with the best competition experience possible!
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS not only want KAR to be an industry leader, but they also want to distinguish KAR as a first rate dance competition that goes the extra mile!
    •  We can achieve this if every KAR TEAM MEMBER focuses on details and presentation.
    •  These factors not only define the KAR STANDARD and KAR BRAND, but also prove that KAR TEAM MEMBERS are proud of what they do!

    Fundamental facts that are directly related to DETAILS and PRESENTATION

    •  What customers see first makes a big impression.
    •  A customer’s experience creates long-lasting memories.
    •  If KAR TEAM MEMBERS can succeed at making both of these situations positive, there is a strong chance that the customer will return (78% of dance studios that compete at KAR are repeat customers). WAY TO GO TEAM KAR!!
  • 3. Build a Positive Team and Family Spirit
    •  A KAR TEAM MEMBER not only wants to build a team, but also a family spirit.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS want to support, encourage, and watch out for each other by removing obstacles and enabling their peers to succeed.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS want all team members to share their opinions and help collaborate on addressing issues.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS want to work together and play together, because their bonds go beyond the typical co-worker relationship.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS are like "FAMILY,” they are a "TEAM” – together they can accomplish much more.
    •  They must value team and individual accomplishments with equal importance.
    •  A KAR TEAM MEMBER is not a self-promoter but a KAR team promoter!
  • 4. Do More With Less
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS are always on the lookout for how to make themselves more efficient and improve operations at KAR.
    •  A KAR TEAM MEMBER looks to optimize, not down size. They create a lean machine that is highly efficient.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS know that there is always room for improvement and they make it a priority to do so.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS want KARBOW to not only be a great dance competition, but the greatest dance competition in the world!
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS strive to set and exceed their own standards for achieving more with the same, or even fewer resources than before.
    •  Remember “More for less” does not translate to reducing the quality of the “KAR brand” by cutting corners (e.g. having cheaper quality merchandise, or removing services); it is about thinking outside of the box.
    •  “MacGyver Moments” = getting a job done with the resources at hand or working around problems even if certain resources are missing.
  • 5. Embrace and Drive Change
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS not only handle endless change to the best of their abilities, but also expect and embrace it with open arms.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS never accept or become comfortable with the status quo; they are always thinking of ways to change processes, perspectives, and opinions.
    •  Without CHANGE, KAR TEAM MEMBERS could not maintain the high quality service that is the KARBOW trademark.
    •  Example: In 1883 Kodak (George Eastman) invented photographic film in rolls, and also the camera. Then, in 1975 Kodak (Steven Sasson) invented the digital camera, but because the company did not respond quickly enough to change they no longer produce cameras and have gone out of business.
  • 6. Be Passionate and Determined
    •  What keeps KAR TEAM MEMBERS going? It is their passion for the KAR business and culture.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS are inspired because they believe in what they are doing and where they are going.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS never accept “That will never work” as an answer.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS have a positive and optimistic attitude because this inspires everyone around them.
    •  If RICK was not passionate and determined, KAR could not have grown from 3 local competitions in a year, to over 100 competitions throughout 34 different states!
  • 7. Build an Open and Honest Relationship with Communication
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS are an open book.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS' honesty when interacting with others provides a foundation for strong relationships that are built on trust and faith. KAR TEAM MEMBERS uses these bonds to accomplish much more than they could otherwise.
    •  It is not easy getting there! KAR TEAM MEMBERS always act with integrity, compassion, loyalty, and are very good listeners.
    •  At the end of the day it is not what KAR TEAM MEMBERS say or do, but how they make people feel that matters the most.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS care about others on a personal and professional level.
  • 8. Be Humble and Respectful
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS understand that despite all the great things our KAR family has accomplished in the past, there will always be challenges ahead.
    •  No matter what happens, KAR TEAM MEMBERS are respectful of everyone.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS love to celebrate individual and team successes, but not in an arrogant or boastful way.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS believe in a quiet confidence because in the long run, character speaks for itself.
    •  KAR TEAM MEMBERS do not give off a self-important attitude.
